As a kid, I always thought that more people were born in October and November than any of the other months of the year. It’d always be such a panic trying to budget all of their presents alongside Christmas presents. I’m always on the hunt for cheap and charming presents to give people come Christmas, and have compiled here a little list of all of my findings.
Skin gets drier in the winter — and that’s a fact! One of my favourite activities is to stand under a scalding hot shower and slough away all of my dead skin, so that I emerge fresh and reborn. One of my favourite recipes is this sugar scrub which can be made using things in your pantry! You can also tweak the recipe for different times of year — cinnamon and clove grounds for Halloween! Rose and jasmine for Valentine’s Day! It really is the gift that keeps on giving (for you, at least).
Or maybe you’re getting gifts for a foodie. Why not bake them something! Tinned fruits can really give you the best deal when it comes to making pies, because the sugar syrup they’re canned in gently poach the fruit while they’re baking. My favourite recipe calls for tinned peaches instead of apples in a crumble, for a delightful summertime dessert, but tinned cherries make an amazing cake that looks so pretty when sliced up and wrapped in brown paper!
Or maybe they’re a music lover. Why not make them a Spotify playlist? There are so many playlists that are designed to evoke hyper specific moods. A playlist for meeting God at a petrol station, music to listen to if you were a frog, or what would play in the background of your very own teen movie. Why not make your own?
